Settlers and native tribes passing through the region of Capitol Reef National Park must have been pretty intimidated by the massive stone wall of the monocline. The nearly 100 mile long barrier seemingly juts straight out of the ground. Luckily the water from flash floods found it’s way through the canyon walls creating natural pathways and crevices for reasonably safe passage. View Print Options
