Seasonal Impressions

Painting with light… Though I’m sure a similar effect can be achieved through some type of software plugin or filter, this image is created entirely in-camera using a multiple exposure setup. In this case, five, slightly under-exposed, images overlay onto the same digital negative giving an end result appearing like an impressionist painting. It was a fun and interesting experiment into another realm of digital capture that requires much trial and error. Every scene and movement of the camera has differing results.
I’d like to point out that I was inspired by one of our Great Smoky Mountain Photography Summit instructors, Charles Needle, who’s work is astounding in this type of digital capture, and has also written a beautiful book on the subject.
