Years ago a fire whipped through the foothills of the Manti-La Sal mountains charring the trees and underbrush. Afterwards, with light able to reach to the ground, fresh life began to take hold from seeds and the original root systems. Every year since, the autumn colors seem to celebrate the natural fiery cycle that these areas require for growing.
